one stroke {work in progress}

A single line, a trace consisting of a single stroke has often been considered a hallmark of mastery of a medium when one manages to capture the essential aspects of an object. The uninterrupted trace must capture both the outline of the figure and its internal structure.

Here we used an artificial perception to guide the shaping of a continuous line trying to maximally create a recognizable object. Because this machine perception differs form the human visual system its choices regarding what features are essential to the recognizability of an object at times align and at times defer from equivalent human generated images.

In this series we produce animations and static objects that consist of a single line highly recognizable as a type of object by a machine percpetion.
